A very funny or rather unfunny story is coming out of Indonesia. A convict for heroin possession got 3 additional years in federal prison as a result of a clerical error. He was immediately released after they found the correct date of his incarceration, but doesn’t that have to suck. 3 years in jail when you could be doing anything else.

Avoiding Indonesia until further notice.

It has been a while, but I have a horrific advertising concept today. Well, today was the Super Bowl and as such we were guaranteed bad advertising. However, monster.com took it to a new level. So the unemployment rate is 9.7% and the best Monster.com can come up with for their ad is a Beaver violinist. What the heck it that? Apparently, Monster.com most be segmenting the wildlife market. Good luck Monster.com you are going to need it.

I was recently alerted to the IG awards. They state they are put in place to make people laugh as well as think. This year’s winners continue to supply the laughs.

1. Biology- bacteria from panda waste helps to reduce to reduce the mass of kitchen waste. (How exactly does one think of this solution?)

2. Chemistry – creating diamonds from Tequila (Jose Cuervo has always been a scientist in my eyes.)

3. Economics- An Icelandic professor threw a no-brainer saying that banks can fluctuate in size. Nice work!

4. Literature – a collection of traffic tickets in Ireland was the real gem this year.

5. Math- Zimbabwe decided to do a huge service to its citizens by printing bigger bills for its citizens thereby making the currency calculations easier. (Didn’t dress inflation. hmmm?)

6. Medicine- A man cracked his knuckles every day for 60 years to see if cracking knuckles causes arthritis. (WTF?)

7. Public Health- a pair in Illinois converted a bra into an emergency face mask. (I like the thinking.)

Another kid was charged with one heck of a cell phone bill this month. It looks like the kid wasn’t messing around. He went for the gold and in doing so racked up a nice 22,000 bill. Don’t you think Verizon, AT&T, Sprint or T-Mobile would have the decency to send you text if you went way over your limit. I guess not.

What a crappy way to declare bankruptcy loading games to your cell phone!

This one is pretty funny. You definitely should take your drunkeness or future drunkness into account before looking for a costume. It appears that one man from Ohio took it a bit too far on Halloween. He dressed up like a Breathalizer. However, he got into a car and drove over the limit. He was arrested with the cops not laughing.

It turns out that the Lego Corporation is going to have its own reality show. Apparently, this really got Perez Hilton going. Watching people play with legos for an hour may not be the most interesting thing, but it will probably be more interesting to watch then New York Goes to Work. Haha.

As you all know Halloween is just around the corner. Kids and adults alike are flocking to the stores looking for the best costume they can possibly find. However, those seekers now have one less option.

Apparently, Target Corporation had one costume that was just too much for people. The costume which was apparently in the stores had the following things: orange jumpsuit, alien head and a green card. I’m no genius, but how does this pass muster the first time. This is incredible. I certainly don’t blame Target, yet I still have to think someone might just thought that an illegal alien wouldn’t offend anyone. Who knows?

When did pumpkin weighing become such a huge sport? Does it have any legs during the off-season or does pumpkin weighing only count in October. It seems like it has come out of nowhere to capture at least the news media’s attention. I guess 1600-1700 lb. pumpkins seem to capture the imagination at least for a couple of seconds.

However, do they behemoths have names? I just don’t know that the pumpkin farmers have with these overly large vegetables.
